The Bar & Grill (above The Arena club) International cuisine, ranging from satay to steak & chips. The chicken wings are a treat & the burgers great value. But the enchiladas are a must. Nuff respect to Tony & the kitchen crew !

The Griener Oldest eaterie in town which serves up traditional Tyrolean dishes. Check out the Garlic soup ( just the thing on a cold winters night) and the amazing cheese dishes. Booking in advance is recommended. The girls at the Hotel Strass reception will do this for you if you ask them nicely. You’ll also need them to book you a taxi (once you know where it is, you’ll then be able to walk back, it’s a great way to walk off those carbohydrates!)
The Grillkuchl (2 minutes walk from Sporthotel Strass, down the mainstreet on the left) Best place in town to try the local dish; the Grostle. This is a mish-mash of fried potato, herbs, egg and bits of meat. It may sound disgusting but it is in fact, really really tasty.
The Rundum (7 mins walk from Sporthotel Strass, opposite Little Gerry’s Bar) This newish building boasts h-u-g-e pasta dishes & a downstairs Keller bar that serves the infamous Valpolla (see avalanche of alcohol).
Mamma Mia Pizzeria (10 mins walk from Sporthotel Strass, next door to Hotel Elizabeth) A great place to eat pizzas – favoured by season workers on their nights off and in-the-know visitors. Go early as it gets busy later on. |
